The Northwest Senior Golf League will be teaming up with the Northwest Golf Course family this Wednesday, September 11, 2024 to benefit 2 very worthy organizations: the Salute Military Golf Association(SMGA) and the First Tee of Greater Washington DC.
It is a fun filled day with plenty of really good food, putting, closest to pin and long drive contests and raffle prizes with some very good gifts for everyone. I want to thank everyone who is participating and helping make this event a rousing success for 2 very worthy organizations.
During the event, the Senior League members will be entered in our own event as well as the fundraiser scramble event with prizes available in both events. The Day Of Community Support is a 4-man scramble where all 4 players hit off the tee, pick the best shot and all 4 play from that spot; continue playing the best shot until the ball is holed. (If you know you can’t hit the ball better than a shot that has been played, you don’t have to hit a ball.) - Threesomes, please rotate having one-person hit 2 balls for an entire hole.
For Scoring: Please record how many over or under par your team score was for each hole and please use cumulative scoring for each hole on the scorecard.
We are playing without any handicaps as all teams are very balanced. - USGA Rules apply unless local rules dictate otherwise. Members will use the tee box that they have been using in league play, Green, Blended or Gold for those over 80. Once scorecards are signed and turned into the official scorer all scores are final.
Rules: Preferred Lies in the Fairway and Rough. Means one can lift, clean and place one's ball within one club length, no closer to the hole, when the ball is in the fairway, rough and 6 inches on the fringe of the green. But you cannot move the ball from rough to first cut or fairway.
Pace of Play: If a group falls more than 1 hole behind the group in front of them, they will be issued a 1 hole warning. Within 1 hole if you fail to catch up, the group will be issued a 2 stroke penalty. If you choose to play a Lost ball, in high grass, or just in the rough, it will be played as a LATERAL. You can place your ball 2 club lengths from where you believe it should be or where it entered the deep grasses and take 1 penalty stroke.
All balls on hard pan, mulch, roots, rocks and flower beds are players are entitled to lift, clean and place one's ball within one club length, no closer to the hole.
Putts measured within 24 inches can be taken all others must be putted out!.
