Payment is due the first day of play, April 7th, 2020. Membership dues will be collected by Musket Ridge. Green Fees:6 $23.00, range balls are included. Schedule of Play: We hope to have at least 14 teams in our league this season. The season will start on Tuesday, April 7, 2020. We will play a round robin with teams scheduled to play each other once during the regular season. Every 4th week we will play a “position” round based on each teams position in the team standings. Time permitting we will make up rain-outs and/or schedule some fun days before commencing the playoffs. Post Season Play: We will have a single elimination tournament following the regular season. Details will be finalized as we near the end of the season. Post season play will commence the week after the conclusion of the regular season. Handicaps: Maximum (individual) handicaps will be 20. Handicaps will be calculated by totaling your strokes over par and dividing by the number of weeks played. Any fractional stroke will be dropped (no rounding up). Handicaps will be carried over from last year. For new players handicaps will be established based on a player’s initial round in league play. Handicaps for all players and subs will be updated weekly and after the first week of the playoffs (when all players are present), but not after that. Scoring: Scoring will be based on team net score. Each team’s score per hole will be the sum of each of its member’s individual scores as adjusted by each team member’s individual handicap. Each match will consist of nine points, one per hole. Each team will be awarded a half-point for ties. There will be no tie-breakers for regular season play. During the tournament, if teams are tied after nine holes they will continue to play until a team wins a hole. Position Rounds: Every 4th week we will play a “position” round. The 1st placed team in the team standings will play the 2nd place team. The 3rd ranked team will play the 4th ranked team and so on. Ties will be broken at the discretion of the scorer. Position rounds will be played as follows: • Three holes will be played as best ball, whereby by the best score of either player on one team will be compared against the best score of either player on the opposing team. These holes will be played from the white tees for men, red tees for women; • Three holes will be played as a scramble, where team member hits the ball, a team selects which ball they want to play the next shot from and each player hits their next shot from this location, and so on, until completing the hole. Team scores are compared after each team completes the hole. These holes will be played from the blue tees for mean and the white tees for women.; • Three holes will be played in an alternate shot format. One team member will hit the tee shot, the other player will hit the next shot from the spot the first player’s ball rests, and so on until the ball his holed. Team scores are compared after each team completes the hole. These holes will be played from the red tees or all players. The holes to be played in each method will identified for you for each “position round” played. Substitutes: For the enjoyment of our members and our relationship with Musket Ridge, members are responsible for and strongly encouraged to find a substitute player when they are unable to play. When using a substitute, the substitute’s handicap will replace the missing member’s handicap in the scoring of each hole. A regular member of a team cannot play as a substitute for another team. League members are responsible for finding their own subs. (THE SUBSTITUTE DOES NOT HAVE TO BE A COUNTY EMPLOYEE!) Tournament substitutes MUST have played at least one round this year to be eligible to be a sub for the tournament, and are subject to approval by the committee. Scoring No-Shows: One member missing: If only one team members show up to play, that team’s handicap will be reduced to 75% of its total (fractional strokes will be dropped) for the match. Scores will be assigned for each hole (in hole handicap order) for the missing member based on the missing member’s handicap. (i.e. A missing 2-handicapper would be scored at bogey for the 2 hardest holes and par for the other 7 holes). A net team handicap will be established for competing teams as described in Using Player Handicaps above using the reduced team handicap for the team with the missing player. Each team’s score per hole will be the sum of each of its member’s scores as adjusted by any net handicap on the hole. A table showing the adjusted team handicap is attached. Both members missing: A team cannot receive any points if neither of its members shows up. The opposing team (the team that shows up) will not automatically receive points however, but can earn them. The missing team’s handicap will be reduced to 50% of its total for the match (fractional strokes will be dropped). Scores will be assigned for each hole for the missing team using the absent player’s handicaps. A net team handicap will be established for competing teams as described in Using Player Handicaps above using the reduced team handicap for the missing team. The team present will play against these scores. If it wins a hole on low net, it will receive a point. If it ties a hole on low net, it will receive a half point. One member missing from each team: If only one player from each team shows, each player will use their own handicap. The two players handicaps will be netted and remaining handicap strokes will be played by the higher-handicapped player in hole handicap order. The low net score for each hole will earn a point; tied holes earn each player (team) a half-point. Three players missing: In this situation the team handicaps will be reduced by 50% for the completely absent team and 25% for the team with a single player present. The team totally absent cannot receive any points. The team with a single payer present will not automatically receive points however, but can earn them. Scores will be assigned for each hole (in hole handicap order) for the missing members based on the their respective handicaps. A net team handicap will be established for the match as described in Using Player Handicaps above using the 50% and 25% reduced team handicaps. Each team’s score per hole will be the sum of each of its member’s scores (either played or assigned) as adjusted by any net handicap on the hole. If the team of the playing member wins a hole on low net, the player’s team will receive a point. If the team of the playing member ties a hole on low net, it will receive a half point. Weather Cancellations: During play, if bad weather should occur, please go directly to the clubhouse to wait for a decision on play. If a team should leave before a decision is agreed upon, it could cost them a forfeit of that game. Cancellation due to weather will be made by Golf Committee. Players without e-mail addresses may call the golf course after 3:00 P.M. for notification. Etiquette: Look for lost balls briefly. Help your partner and opponents when appropriate.
