Welcome to the MSGA rules page.
ALL GOLF PLAY WILL BE GOVERNED BY USGA RULES UNLESS A LOCAL RULE IS ENFORCED.

WEATHER RULES
1. If its raining and the course allows play then we will play as scheduled.
2. If its raining and the course pulls you off due to lighting or any weather related issues we will regroup in the club house and wait for weather to pass or clear and resume play. If you leave on you own and the course has not cancelled the rest of the day your round if forfeited. ( no make up)
3. If the course pulls you off due to weather related event and they do not allow you back on the course that day. We will schedule a makeup day that will fall on the upcoming holiday weekend.

Rules for League Play 2025
1. USGA Rules will will Govern Game play.
2. If your ball is in the fairway and it comes to rest in a divot you can move it out of the divot no closer to the hole.
3. Lost Ball-This Local Rule is recommended for casual play and not for competitions involving highly-skilled players. If it is in effect, for two penalty strokes, you can estimate the spot where your ball is lost or went out of bounds and then find the nearest fairway edge that is not nearer the hole than the estimated spot. You can drop a ball in the fairway within two club-lengths of that fairway edge point, or anywhere between there and the estimated spot where your ball is lost or went out of bounds.
4. putting- All putts are to be putted out “NO EXCEPTIONS”
5. GLS score keeping- GLS shall be kelp by two people in each group along with paper scorecard.
6. Tee Times- Tee time will based on player ranking of previous round
7. Golf Ball- You cannot switch between golf balls during the hole play unless you lose one.
8. Etiquette- We will follow all of golf’s etiquette rules. (Standing on tee box, loud music, talking, etc.) player will be allowed to hit over if etiquette rule is broken.
9. Bunkers- USGA rules. We will also use a local when deemed necessary (wet bunkers or unplayable)
