$33 of entry is for the Application (11 x $33 = $363) This covers the $360 league fee as we have to cover the RockGhost. $627 remaining in the budget.
$54.55 of entry is applied to Season Competitions. (11 x $54.55 = $600) leaving $30 remaining in the budget.
1st = $60, 2nd = $30, 3rd = $20, 4th = $10 totaling $120 pay out per competition. With 5 competitions (5 X $120 = $600 pool)
$2.73 of the entry fee is applied to engraving and trophy maintenance. (11 x $2.73 = $30) leaving $0 in the remaining budget. All monies tie out.
League Play is 9 holes from the white boxes which counts towards the season competitions except for TwoLips Open when blues/reds are in play. The Handicap is the World Handicap System (WHS) managed by the app.
The schedule is set to play each golfer at least once however, that is subject to change based on attendance:
If in a given week 2 golfers cannot show then the 2 remaining golfers will play each other
In the event of 3 players, whose schedule is abandoned the day of the league the player who plays the Ghost is determined by a Tee twirl.
If in a given week 1 golfer has no opponent the golfer will play against themselves (Ghost)
Playing the ghost is playing against your average with a 3 stroke advantage. An example is if your average is 45 you must get a 48 to get the win and a 49 for a tie and anything over a 49 is a loss.
Based on experts within handicaps systems you should beat your average once every five rounds. This should be a good formula to fairly equate a competition when playing the ghost.
InPlay Rules
Tee shot Out of Bounds: When hitting a tee shot out of bounds; you have the option to re-tee or hit from the spot that the ball went out of bounds with a 1-stroke penalty. If choosing out of bounds it is a two-club length no closer to the hole.
Out of Bounds Rule: Two-club lengths from out of bounds no closer to the hole.
Bunker Rule: If rain could impact the bunkers, a "Bunker Rule" decision will be established before tee time. No ball shall be played within the bunker when "Bunker Rule" is in play. The ball shall be placed outside the bunker, no closer to the hole, and behind the bunker with a clean lie.
Obstruction: The rule is two club lengths, no closer to the hole, and no line of sight relief. Man-made objects are sheds, benches, ball washers, Tee Markers, or outhouses. Obstruction is considered when it impacts your swing or stance. If the obstruction is between you and the hole, you do not get relief, unless it impacts your swing or stance. Any dispute is between the players to solve. An example is the shed on hole four or to the right on hole one.
EastSide Etiquette: It's up to the players in a competition to hold their competitors to the rules. Other players can certainly educate about the rule however it's up to the players in the competition to determine if there is leniency with the rule in question. The rules are always established and available to the players within the app.
Water Hazard Rule: If your ball lands in a water hazard, instead of the two-club length rule from the hazard in the past, we have altered it to a rule more in line with the official rules of golf which is, you may follow the path of the ball flight or path of the ball as far back as you wish to drop the ball. A (1) stroke penalty still exists. This must be within the path of the ball, no closer to the hole. Because the path of the ball is more subjective, this should be agreed upon by your playing partner.
InGame Competiton
$5 per round is donated to the InGame competition. Tiebreaker is settled the following week in a scratch sudden death. All players must be present and golfers do not have to be in the same group.
Gauntlet, an obvious rule here but Mac needs it to be known that once you are on the green for closest to the pin holes you cannot go off the green to get another shot at closest to the pin.
(1) Par or better (10)
(2) One Put or Better includes Chip In (11)
(3) Closest to Pin, any shot off Green (12)
(4) Long Drive Fairway (13)
(5) Longest Putt (14)
(6) Hit Green off Tee (16)
(7) Hit Fairway off Tee (15)
(8) Make a 2 Birdie or Better (17)
(9) Make a 5 Bogey or Better (18)
(6) (8) Closest to the pin on par 3s for front 9
(12) (16) (17) Closest to the pin on par 3s Back 9 determined before round
Bingo, Bango, Bongo
Be the first player in the group to hit his or her golf ball on the green (Bingo)
Be the player in the group whose golf ball is closest to the pin after all the golf balls are on the green (Bango)
Be the first player in the group to hole out (Bongo)
PGF (Putts minus Greens and Fairways)
Each hole scores total putts minus fairway and regulations greens. For example, on a par 4, your score for the hole is a 6 with 3 putts. You hit the fairway on the drive which would be a minus 1 bringing your putt score to 2. You hit the green by the 2nd shot which is a minus 1 bringing your putt score to 1.
No fairway point on Par 3s.
Playoffs
You must play 10 weeks (71%) to qualify for the playoffs.
In the event an odd number of players make the playoffs the head to head winning % will get a bye
Tie Breakers
Two Players
1. Head to head
2. Fantasy with handicap
3. Rydher cup rank
4. Money Rank
5. Putt off
Tie Breaker three or more players
1. Fantasy with handicap - with ties being broken out per by sub ranking
2. Head to head
3. Ryder Cup Rank
4. Money Rank
5. Chip Off
Example: Three players
Fantasy with a handicap has two players tie, the remaining one player is seeded before or after the two players tied. Final two players then move to "head to head", if still tied move to Rydhercup rank, then to money rank, then finally putt of if tie cannot be settled"
Example: Four players
Fantasy with a handicap has two players tie, the remaining two players seeded before or after the two players tied. The final two players then move to "head to head", if still tied move to Rydhercup rank, then to money rank, then finally putt of if tie cannot be settled."
Playoff Reschedule: "The Mac Daddy angry MO FO rule". Rescheduling can occur when a player has a clear health issue, like being unable to walk without a cart when rain forces no carts on the course. We have dealt with rescheduling in the past with little to no success. In the spirit of the league, the intent is for the playoffs to be played on time scheduled.
Season Competitions
In Season Events, **Note: There is consideration to have both the D-Cup Classic and TwoLips Open at different courses which were explored. Initial investigation determined that scheduling these events would be difficult at different courses.
Head to Head Season: Most Points (1point per win, .5 points per tie)
Rydher Cup Season: Winner of Rydher cup points in Season
Fantasy 18: Winner of the lowest score of 18 holes (All 18 weeks (Regular Season and Playoffs)
D-Cup Classic: 9 holes using 3 clubs and putter with 1 mulligan
TwoLips Open: 9 holes teeing off from blues/reds alternating holes
Match Play
Weeks 6 & 13 in which the gap in handicap will determine which holes a stroke is provided from the hardest handicap to the easiest handicap of the 9 holes of play
Example: If a player has 3 strokes in the head-to-head play based on handicap then that player will get a stroke on the lowest (hardest) handicap holes on the 9 holes of play.
If it were the back 9 then holes 15 (2), 10 (4), and 14(6) would be the holes or the front 9 then it would be holes 1(1), 9(3), and 4(5).
Rydher Cup Season
Points for 1st through 12th starting at 20 and decreasing by 2 per position except for the last three positions with 12 getting 0 which should happen very rarely based on attendance.
Point are awarded based on how many participants and if only 4 golfers show then points are awarded in the top 4 slots (72 points)
In the event of a tie the points for the positions averages per player. Example: if three players tied for 2nd then points for 2nd, 3rd and 4th are totaled then averaged for each player. Each player would receive 16 points (18+16+14/3)
