Welcome to the Rattlewood Tuesday Night League.

Shotgun Start Time & Warm-Ups

• This is a weekly shotgun start at 5:00pm
• All golfers must first check-in, at either the Pro Shop or Express Check-In gazebo.
• Complimentary Range Balls will be available for league members and subs prior to matches, beginning @ 3:30 pm.

Pace of Play

• There is a 2.5 hr time limit guarantee for all League matches. If any foursome falls off pace, one (1) hole behind, you will be given one (1) warning to catch up. If your foursome has to be reminded a second time, you will be asked to skip to the next hole, causing you to forfeit any chance to win prize money.
  • Please adhere to respectful "Ready Golf" standards and play at a reasonable pace. This benefits EVERYBODY.

Handicaps

• We will use our returning member’s 9-hole handicap from the end of last season, with a maximum handicap of “12N" for any given player. Only a maximum of 7 strokes will be given per player per match, with no strokes given on par 3’s (no double strokes on any hole).

Substitutes

• Any substitute without a verified USGA or GLS handicap will start with a zero (0) for their first round unless they have played as a sub in the past or is a former league member. Of which, the recorded HCI maintained in GLS with be utilized. After the first round, they will be placed on our “sub list” and will get 9-hole handicap established for the next time they play as a sub.
• Notify the Pro Shop of any subs by email; rwleagues@gmail.com OR by phone (301-607-9000) NO LATER THAN 4pm DAY OF YOUR MATCH so that the scorecard changes can be made!
• Failure to notify the Pro Shop of subs at least 1 Hour prior to play will result in your sub playing as a ZERO (0) handicap REGARDLESS of if they already have one established!
• **PLEASE ALWAYS HAVE 1 OR 2 PEOPLE IN MIND THAT CAN FILL IN FOR YOU AT ANY GIVEN TIME THROUGHOUT THE SEASON AND HAVE THEM TURN IN TWO 18-HOLE SCORES TO BE PUT IN THE SYSTEM IF THEY ARE NOT ALREADY IN IT**
• All non-sanctioned substitutes must pay an annual registration fee of $15.00 before being allowed to play in any league events. * A sub may be listed on multiple Rattlewood league rosters at no additional charge.

Attendance

• ZERO (0) POINTS WILL BE GIVEN TO ANY TEAM THAT DOES NOT SHOW UP FOR A MATCH.
• EIGHT (8) POINTS will be awarded to the team that shows up to play the match AS LONG AS A COMPLETED 9-HOLE SCORECARD IS TURNED IN TO THE PRO-SHOP.
• AT LEAST ONE TEAM MEMBER or registered Substitute MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN THE FULL 8 POINTS.
• Matches against “no show” teams are NOT eligible to win any prize money, as there is no one to attest your scores.
• There will be NO individual match make-ups and rescheduling, regardless of circumstances unless a league-wide cancellation is called for by Rattlewood GC management. * Please see inclement weather details below. There is a Sub list to be utilized in such cases.
• All league members must have a valid credit/debit card on file with the Pro Shop and are subject to greens fees for any no-show and no substitute player arrangements.

Scoring

• For the leagues we are not doing “stroke and distance” for out-of-bounds shots. Do not return to the tee box/ last shot location in order to hit another ball. Instead, treat all Out-Of-Bounds shots as if a lateral hazard and take a drop in bounds WITH penalty stroke, no nearer to the hole from the point of entry. This includes Out of Bounds and lost balls.
• League Specific Out-Of-Bounds Rules
  • Hole #1 - Driving range is OUT OF BOUNDS and will be staked.
  • Hole #9 - Stakes and fences line the out-of-bounds along the right hand side of the hole. In between fences is still O/B in a straight line between them.
  • Hole #13 – White Stakes on left side
  • Hole #14 - Anything to the left of the cart path along #14 is out-of-bounds (no longer our property). There may be a white line painted down the left side of the path in the near future. If there is not - anything to the left of the path IS out-of-bounds.
  • Hole #18 - The "no-mow" on the left dogleg of #18 is no longer out-of-bounds. The entrance driveway is now considered the out-of-bounds line.
• Water Hazards - Drop Areas (may or may not be marked with a circle of paint):
  • Hole # 6 – In the rough, to the left of the cart path, just past the water.
  • Hole # 10 – In the rough to the left of the Red Tee box
  • Hole #15 – In the rough, just past the water, with clear line of sight of green (to the right of a spot you’d be hitting at the trees).
• All scoring will be done off of the “low man’s” handicap. The “low man” is the player with the lowest handicap for the match being played. Each player’s handicap will have the low man’s subtracted from it and that will be their total strokes for the match.
• Maximum strokes for the match is 9, so with Par 3’s, the most any player can receive is one a hole!
• Although MAX SCORE PER HOLE WILL BE DOUBLE BOGEY IN THE HANDICAP SYSTEM, which will be calculated automatically through our computed handicap system, for all other scoring purposes, please write in your original score either on your scorecard or record it in GLS App during the live scoring.. Please PUTT OUT all putts. There are NO Automatic Gimmies. Regardless of remaining distance to the pin,a player may only accept a "gimmie" and pickup their ball upon consent of the other team. If done so, the "gimme" is still counted as a stroke.
• Points
  • There are 8 points awarded for each match.
  • Each match will consist of three - 3 hole sets worth 2 points each.
    • 1 point given for most holes won for each 3 hole set.
    • 1 point given for team low net for each 3 hole set.
  • 1 point awarded for most holes won in the entire 9 holes
  • 1 point awarded for team low net for the entire 9 holes.
• If you want to try to keep track of the scoring during the match – USE A SEPARATE SCORECARD!!! DO NOT WRITE ANYTHING BUT THE GROSS/NET SCORES ON THE OFFICIAL SCORECARD!!

Inclement Weather

• Should we experience a rain-out on any given week, except during playoffs, and the league is cancelled, the next scheduled match will be played the following week as planned.
• We will make every effort to cancel the league, through e-mail notification, NO LATER than 3:00pm if heavy rains or lightning should persist or look likely.
• ALWAYS CALL THE PROSHOP IF THE WEATHER IS QUESTIONABLE!
• There has been one (1) week set aside at the end of the season for the FIRST rained out match of the season. Any other rained out weeks will not be rescheduled.

Games & Prizes

• Prize money will be awarded each week for the following categories
  • Individual Low Net
  • Individual Low Gross
  • Team Low Net
  • Team Low Gross
  • Net Skins
• Prizes can only be won in one category per week per person/teamThe only exception to this rule are net skins, which may be won in combination of any other prize category.
• In the event of a tie, scorecards are compared, starting at the #1 handicap hole
• The Skins game is "optional" at an additonal $20 cash for every week a golfer is committed to the blinds.
  • Skins 100% optional to every member at Week #1
  • Skins will carryover to the next league round if there are no skins won on any particular week.
  • In the case of carryovers, members will be considered committed to the blinds for all subsequent weeks until a skin is won.
    • If a member has not yet committed to the blinds prior to a carryover scenario, no new commitments will be allowed until a skin is claimed.
  • Skins are won with the singular low net score on any given hole during league play.
    • All golfers will receive all eligible strokes awarded them via there HCI as maintained in GLS, when scoring Skins.
      • All Par 3's are weighted in relation to the level of course difficulty ranking and will receive no strokes relative to HCI, just as in match play.
    • A split-pot will occur if there are singular low net winners on multiple holes on the same night during match play.

Prize Money

• If you win prize money throughout any given week of the league, it will be put onto your account in our retail system and can be used toward any purchases but you will have to go into the proshop, money on account can not be accessed on the tablet outside. Weekly Optional Skins winnings, will be paid out in cash on a weekly basis.
  • All weekly prize winnings will be credited directly to a players account on a weekly basis, prior to the next scheduled league match.
    • Skins will be available to pickup in the Proshop 48 hrs after matches have concluded that week.
• All league money won will be recorded on this league site for each week, where you can keep track of your winnings throughout the season.
• The money in your personal credit book can be used at your discretion and for whatever reason, but can only be used at Rattlewood, at any time throughout the year! IT WILL EXPIRE ON 12/31/2023!!!

Playoffs

• Seeding for playoffs will be based on final point totals.
• If there is inclement weather during a week of the playoffs, there is a week set aside for makeups. If there is a second weather event, or rain on the makeup date - you are expected to make up the match BEFORE the next week’s matches or Banquet night, at a time that is suitable for BOTH teams.
• Only Sanctioned Subs will be allowed in the playoffs. If a team member is unable to complete the season, a replacement must be found prior to the start of the playoffs and must play each playoff week.
